Combine the dates, coconut milk, maple syrup, and sea salt in a small food processor. Blend until smooth.
Fold in the coconut shreds. Spread the frosting on each cupcake and serve.
Notes
This frosting is enough for about 12 cupcakes. I used the Eat G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. Dark Choconot Fudge cake mix for the cupcakes. They are amazing.If your dates are dried out at all, soak them in hot water for 10-15 minutes first. This will yield a smoother frosting.
