Set the air fryer to 390 degrees to preheat. **See notes if wings are frozen.
Add the chicken wings to a large bowl along with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly.
Add to the air fryer and cook for about 20 minutes, checking every 5 minutes to stir/toss. Internal temperature should be at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
While chicken is cooking, make the glaze.
Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for about 2 minutes until translucent. Be careful not to burn it.
Add the honey and lemon and simmer for about 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
When the chicken finishes cooking, dump it into a clean bowl. Pour the sauce over the top and toss it until evenly coated. Serve.
Notes
For Frozen Wings:
Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees.
Add the wings directly to the air fryer and cook for about 8 minutes. Remove the wings and put them in a bowl, then add the seasonings and toss to coat.
Return to wings to the air fryer and continue cooking at 390 degrees for another 15-20 minutes or until crispy. Internal temp should be at least 165 degrees F.
Follow the glaze instructions above to make the glaze.
Once cooked, put the wings in a clean bowl, pour the sauce over the top and toss to coat.
Oven Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add the chicken wings to a large bowl along with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Toss to coat evenly.
Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and place a baking rack on top. Place the wings on the rack. If you don't have a rack, you can also use a broiler pan or just cook the wings on a baking sheet.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until crispy. Internal cooking temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove the wings from the oven brush them with the glaze- return them to the oven for 2-3 minutes.
*How to cut whole chicken wingsFind the ridge where the 2 joints meet and cut between them. Cut the tips off if desired.
